Direct Table Produce Co Ltd

Direct Table is the "silent partner" to a number of foodservice companies and leading retailers in the UK, offering a wide range of high quality bacon products from its modern facilities in Hertfordshire and Suffolk.

The Stanton family founded Direct Table in the early 1950s – then a small retail and van sales operation based in Smithfield Market. The initial move into production was by way of a sausage factory that was acquired in Walthamstow, East London.

The company acquired its first bacon factory in the 1970s and began to serve the major multiples in the early 1980s. Further expansion lead to the move to the current site in Cuffley, Herts in 1992 followed by the acquisition in 1998 of Lark Valley Foods in Bury St Edmunds.

The group now employs 290 staff and produces a range of standard and speciality bacon products including British, Dutch and other products.

Speciality cures include Organic, Sweetcure, Dry Cure and Reduced Salt. Both factories are EFSIS Higher Level and British Charter Mark approved and Lark Valley Foods is approved by The Soil Association.
